A to Z to get back on track

I am done neglecting my blog, so I am going to kick it off with this very random A to Z of me. Random seems to be a theme for me.

A. Age: 21, 22 in august. Everyday I tell myself remember you are not 35 you just have the life of a 35 year old. (I would not change it for the world)

B. Bed size: Full, way to small, if the kids take a notion to sleep with us Jae ends up else where.

C. Chore you dislike: Putting away laundry, thank the dear Lord we have a system and Jae puts it away

D. Dogs: We have one for the moment, Fletcher. He fits so well with our family he is just as odd as the rest of us

Y. Yummy food you make: homemade ice cream, but given the fact that i presently weigh what i did when i was eight months preggo with Eden, i have decided i absolutely hate ice cream.

Z. Zoo animal favorites: We are zoo members but I am not really a fan of the zoo, it makes my husband and kiddos happy and it means a trip to TARGET for me.

Random Saturday (I know its Sunday)

Its time for Random Saturday on Sunday, whats more random than that??? Well here goes number THREE...
1)I should really be studying right now, but I am going to keep up my blog this year for real.
2)I decided today that I am going to loose some major poundage before Jae and I go on our cruise, this means no more DR.PEPPER :(
3)Yes, I said cruise 4 years later Jae and I are taking our honeymoon, yay I am beyond excited
4)I had a major breakdown Friday, nursing school kicked my butt and made me cry, I was hysterical poor Jae could not understand a single word I was saying
5)Deciding to not drink anymore DR.PEPPER less than an hour after buying a 24 pack of it = big waste of money.
6)Biggest Loser on the WII kicked my rear today it did not make me cry but came close to it
7)I actually bought myself 2 pairs of shoes this week (they were on sale of course), but I so desperately needed shoes I am pretty sure everyone thinks I only own 2 pair (uggs and tennis shoes).
8)I am so ready for summer, well I am ready for shopping for clothes for the cruise and the actual cruise
9)I have a confession I printed a picture of myself off when I was ridiculously skinny and I put it on my fridge with a sign next to it that says "No Dr. Pepper" that is way sad right??
10)Now back to studying (oh the joys)

Random Saturday

Here goes Random Saturday TWO

1.I really need to get back on a schedule with school, this past week has been nuts.
2.In Target last night I saw several people look at me the way they look at pregnant women with that sweet I wonder when your due smile, I wanted to tell them to wipe that smile off there face that I was unfortunately just bloated.
3.I have 200 dollars in gymbucks which means I get to go tonight kid free with my husband and get 400 dollars worth of spring clothes for the kiddos for 200 dollars now that guys is pretty exciting.
4.I was planning on buying myself some jeans at Target last night but then I decided jean shopping and bloating just do not go together.
5.I know this is pretty lame but I really want a Victoria Secret sweat suit, I have not had a new one since I was in high school :(
6.Caroline just told Eden "Sorry I just tooted in the bath tub!!" My kids are horribly honest.
7.I found the perfect Disney cruise for us to go on during one of Jaes weeks of vacation but Dave Ramsey is sitting on my should yelling in my ear about how dumb it would be,so he wins and we will go next year when my car is paid off
8.The terrible twos are rocking the Mortons world, I now realize Eden never went through this terrible of twos
9.Did I mention how excited I am to go to Tupelo with my hubby tonight, I might even look for myself a pair of jeans (giving that the bloating has subsided).
10.Now its time for me to listen to debt free Friday and get a little emotional, I really cannot control it, I tear up and get chill bumps every blasted time.

I am a Wife and a Mother

I am...a wife and a mother
I want...and try to be the wife, the mother, and the person God wants me to be
I have...been blessed beyond my wildest dreams
I wish...I was not so in love with Dr. Pepper (its bad for you)
I hate...no one and try to like everyone
I fear...more than I should
I hear...our beautiful toddler talking
I search...for meaning in everything
I wonder...how people can look at the sky, a pregnant lady, an infant or a child and not believe in our Awesome God.
I regret...nothing, for I have learned from every mistake and stumble I have experienced in life
I love...the life I have been blessed with
I ache...for the people who do not know the Lord and all that he promises
I always...am amazed by people and their unhappiness and their desire for everyone else to feel the same
I usually...am always up tight
I am not...judgemental
I dance...when no ones looking
I sing...my heart out in the car
I never...forget to thank the Lord for all I have been given
I rarely...shop for myself
I cry...more now than ever (they say children do that to you, who are they anyway)
I am not always...on schedule and it drives me nuts
I lose...my train of thought a lot
I'm confused...by ungrateful people
I need...my husband more than he will ever know
I should...be a little less up tight

Back By Semi-Popular Demand: Chelsea and Jae

In case you haven't heard, the first sign of the apocalypse has appeared in the south. The Morton household woke up this morning to 7 inches of snow. Well, we didn't exactly wake up to it...it was there when we went to sleep. Well, not when all of us went to sleep...just when Chelsea and I went to sleep. You see, my brilliant wife who is also very beautiful and talented and stuff had the beautifully talented brilliant idea to invite my mother over to stay with us last night so that she could play in the snow with Eden and Caroline in the morning. Of course, just like every other beautifully talented brilliant idea Chelsea has ever had, there was an ulterior motive...a beautifully talented brilliant ulterior motive...OK I'm done...
Long story short, at 10:30pm, Chelsea and I were sneaking out the front door in our boots and mittens and scarves and hats and other clothing to "borrow" the kids' snow saucers (sleds) and do "test runs" on the hill in front of the house...you know, just to make sure it was safe...safety first.
Needless to say we had a blast. It really was awesome just sledding and tackling each other and throwing snowballs and laughing for no apparent reason etc., etc. We realized that this was the first time in our entire relationship that we had had the chance to act like kids in the snow together. It was fun. For a little while we felt like we were back in high school with no worries or responsibilities. I think that's what makes our marriage work so well.
It took us a long time to figure out that the thing that was missing from our marriage was Chelsea and Jae. We were spending so much time as Mommy and Daddy that we lost Chelsea and Jae. Most of the time we even referred to each other as "Mommy or Daddy". Once we began taking time for the two of us, our marriage became...well, a marriage. Crazy.

Random Saturday

I have decided that on Saturdays from now on I will block Nursing School and all the studying that goes along with it out, for a short period to listen to Dave Ramsey's Debt Free Friday show on the Internet and type out a very random blog post, these post will not be cohesive at all because even perfectionist control freaks like me deserve a time to just ramble. So here goes Random Saturday number ONE!!!

1. While I was typing out my opening to this blog my two year old dumped a whole box, I mean WHOLE box of lucky charms into my floor, and yes I used my hands picked them all up and put them back in the box. I know I am mother of the year already and its only January the 8th.
2. I generally listen to Dave Ramsey every Saturday to hear all the debt free yells, and I have a confession I generally get chill bumps and tear up every time someone yells debt free. I know I am a sap :)
3. Tonight we are going to take the kids to the movies to see Tangled although I am pretty sure it will be fabulous, I know it will not come close to topping Country Strong that Jae and I saw last night(yay for date nights, that take me back to our high school sweethearts(or whatever you would call it) days.
4. Number 3 leads me to Country Strong, which is by far one of the best movies I have EVER seen, I was way skeptical but it was AMAZING!!
5. I am so ready to be done with nursing school, I really want to move back to Starkville, I love love love Starkville.
6. About right now I am thinking Santa had lost his mind when he decided to bring the whole produce section to go with the precious pink kitchen that he brought to Caroline.
7. I am so excited about this coming week, I hope that it snows Sunday and Monday so I can have some much needed family time with Jae and the Kiddos and did I mention SNOW CREAM!! Also another source of excitement is we are starting our new cleaning schedule which will eliminate the need for us to clean on Fridays and Saturdays.
8. I have a crazy obsession with budgeting, I love it, its what I do to relieve stress. Weird, I know...

***I forgot to state in the beginning that this post will never and I truly mean never be grammatically correct, sorry but this post is going to be random and relaxed so no grammar and punctuation worries here!!!****

Love/Hate Mondays

***This is a disclaimer: I am refusing to worry about punctuation/grammar on LOVE/HATE Mondays, I have always hated these two things when I am writing for my own purposes. This means if you are an English buff, you are probably going to throw up in your mouth while reading this, because I use commas where they are not suppose to and all my sentences are to long.{Jae Morton do not even think about proof reading this}***

I have a love/hate relationship with Mondays, so I have decided to fix [well maybe not fix but share] this by making a list of random things that I either hate or love or both.

I love the fact that I did an entire exercise video last night (Leslie Sanosone's Walk Away The Pounds Express = awesome)

I hate to sweat and I did a lot while doing the video last night, I mean seriously who would of thought that walking at different paces would do that to m

I love/hate budgeting, I love sitting down and figuring them out to see how much money we can save at the end of the week but I hate following/sticking to the actual budget.

I hate laundry which I always seem to do a lot of it on Mondays for some reason.

I love the fact that I had the time to rearrange Carolines room yesterday and got add all the little tweaks that I have been collecting for a while.

I love/hate staying up after everyone goes to bed. I love it because it is quite and I can stalk all my blogs without being interrupted but I hate it because I go to bed way to late and since everyone else in the house went to bed early they of course rise early which mean I have to rise early as well.

I love Tuesday and Thursday because those are Jaes days off and on those days he gets up with the kiddos and does fun outside things with them while I sleep in.

I love/hate eating at home, we eat out a lot but since the B WORD (budget) has come into our lives we have not been eating out as much. I love eating at home because we do not have to constantly say sit down, you have to stay in your high chair, do not talk so loud...well you get the point it is just easier in a sense. But I hate eating at home because I have to cook and clean up the mess from cooking which takes time away from hanging out with the kiddos.
